Technically Rhubarb is a perennial vegetable, but since it has a sour fruity taste and is often used in desserts and for baking, many consider it to be a “fruit”. It is a popular ingredient in many kitchens during winter in Australia when it is in season and affordable. It also grows well in temperate areas of Australia, although it is more of a challenge to grow in sub tropical regions such as South East Queensland. However I love a challenge!
Following is an information sheet on this great vegetable/fruit.
