Chocolate Oreo Fudge

Chocolate Oreo Fudge

I’m about as fond of white chocolate as I am of mashed potato! BUT I do like dark chocolate and I was in the mood for fudge today after battling with a recalcitrant windows server.  Luckily I had the time while the server rebooted, and rebooted, and rebooted and the ingredients to make condensed milk and then play with making an oreo fudge that DID NOT use white chocolate.

Condensed milk in the thermomix is a quick and easy basic.  All you need is some dried milk powder, water, sugar and you can make condensed milk in less than five minutes.  The link to the guided recipe in Cookidoo is here “Condensed Milk“.  It makes more than you need for this recipe, but can be stored in the refrigerator for future use.

This is a very inexpensive (well relatively inexpensive if you get the oreos on sale) recipe, using chocolate melts.  The fudge pictured was made with home brand powdered full cream milk, Aldi home brand chocolate melts and Oreos that were purchased on sale for $1.  The total batch probably cost less than $4.
