Part of a Recipe
You don’t need to always make an entire recipe in your Thermomix. There are gems that are hidden through the recipe books and Cookidoo that are just waiting to be discovered. One of my favourites is the Cheese Sauce that is part of the Homemade Nachos with Cheese Sauce recipe, Hip Hip Hooray!, Australia and New Zealand. It is basically a cheese bechamel sauce that is very very heavy on the cheese. The standard cheese bechamel sauce that is on Cookidoo uses 50g to 70g of cheese. This one uses 180g of cheese, so it is probably a dietician’s nightmare but tastes so good. They do say everything in moderation.
How to Serve, or What to do with it!
The cheese sauce can be served as the original recipe suggests with corn chips, either homemade or purchased. I normally serve it over steamed vegetables, in particular broccoli and cauliflower to hide them/make them more palatable to the member of my family who considers most vegetables to be poisonous. It would also be very good served as a warm dip for raw vegetables, eg. Carrot Sticks, Zucchini Sticks. I think it would also be a great condiment to dip some fresh crusty rustic bread into for a simple lunch.
